About FIRST

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a program that challenges high school students to design, build, and program robots to compete in a high-energy sport. The program combines the excitement of sport with the rigorous science and technology of engineering.

Students work with professional mentors to design, build, and program robots that compete in an annual game. The competition is designed to be a varsity sport for the mind, where teams compete against each other in a game that is both challenging and exciting. The competition also encourages students to develop teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills that will serve them well in the future.

In addition to the competition, FRC also encourages students to become community leaders by promoting STEM education and by encouraging students to become leaders in their communities. Through FRC, students have the opportunity to learn about engineering, science, and technology while also developing leadership and teamwork skills.

The competition is open to all high school students and is held in the United States and internationally. The competition is run by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), a non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting STEM education for all students.

Overall, FIRST Robotics Competition is a unique and exciting program that challenges high school students to design, build, and program robots to compete in a high-energy sport, while also encouraging students to develop teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills that will serve them well in the future.
